Set up custom revenue

Updated over 2 weeks ago

This article will help you add custom revenue in TrueProfit, such as income from non-Shopify sources like Amazon, TikTok Shop, or physical stores. By doing this, you can include all your income sources in TrueProfit to keep your profit reports accurate.

What is custom revenue feature?

The Custom Revenue feature lets you manually add extra income or revenue that doesn’t come from Shopify to your TrueProfit reports.

For example:

  • You sell products through other channels like Amazon, TikTok Shop, Facebook, or eBay.

  • You receive income from sources such as tax refunds, coupons, or physical stores (POS).

Adding these incomes manually ensures your reports show a complete and accurate picture of your profit.

How to add custom revenue

  • Step 1: From the dashboard, click Custom Revenue in the left navigation

  • Step 2: Add a new revenue

From the Custom Revenue page, click Add Custom Revenue on the right top of page

  • Step 3: Step 3: Fill in the revenue details

In the Add custom revenue form, enter the following:

Name: Enter a name for your custom revenue (for example, Amazon Refund).

Currency: Choose the currency for this revenue (or follow your store currency)

Amount: Enter the total revenue amount.

Start date and end date: Select a date range (they can be the same day).

Source: Amazon, Tiktok shop, Physical store, or you can name it by typing the name, example: Taxes reclaim

Once you’ve filled in all the fields, click Add.

Tips

  • Use clear, descriptive names (for example, Amazon US Sales – September) for easier tracking later.

  • After adding a custom revenue, review your total profit to ensure it’s reflected correctly in reports.

Affected metrics in Dashboard

After adding custom revenue, some dashboard metrics will be updated to reflect this new data.

  • A new metric called Custom Revenue is added to both the dashboard and the Customize Metrics view (for single store and all stores).

  • The following formulas are updated accordingly:

Revenue

Revenue = Gross Sales – Discounts – Returns + Taxes Collected + Shipping Charged + Custom Revenue

Average Order Value

Average Order Value = (Revenue – Custom Revenue) / Orders

Average Order Profit
