Email Reports automatically deliver your store's profit and performance metrics to you and your team on a schedule. This guide explains how to create a report, choose its recipients and schedule, customize its content, and review it before saving.
Email Report and Custom Email Report are now one page. Both features have merged into a single Email Report page under Settings. Your old links still work and will take you there.

What are Email Reports?
Email Reports let you receive automated summaries of your TrueProfit metrics without opening the app.
Each report has its own:
Report name
Delivery frequency
Recipient list
Selected metrics
Metric order
Email title and greeting text
Email Reports are configured separately for each store. Delivery times follow the selected store’s time zone.
Your default report
TrueProfit automatically creates one default report named TrueProfit Email Report for each store. It starts with:
Frequency: Hourly
Recipients: None
Metrics: Net Profit, Orders, Revenue, Total Cost, Total Ad Spend, COGS, and Returns
Because the default report starts with no recipients, it does not send anything until you add at least one recipient. Open it, add the people who should receive it, and adjust the frequency if hourly is more often than you need.
You can edit the default report, but you cannot delete it. Any additional report you create can be previewed, edited, or deleted.
Plans and availability
The default report sends on every plan. It is never blocked by your subscription.
Creating additional reports requires the Advance plan or higher. On a lower plan, clicking Create email report opens an upgrade message instead of the report builder. Select Upgrade plan to see your options.
If you downgrade below Advance, the reports you created stop being delivered, and you cannot create new ones. Your default report keeps sending as normal.
How to set up an Email Report
To create a report:
Open Settings.
Under Store, select Email Report.
Click Create email report.
The report builder contains three steps.
Step 1 of 3 — Set the schedule and recipients
In the first step, enter the report name, choose when it should be delivered, and add the people who should receive it.
Enter a report name
Enter a recognizable name, such as:
Daily Profit Summary
Weekly Marketing Report
Monthly Store Performance
The report name is also added to the end of the email subject line.
Select a frequency
Choose one delivery frequency for the report:
Frequency | Delivery schedule |
Hourly | At the beginning of every hour |
Daily | Every day at 8:00 AM |
Weekly | Every Monday at 8:00 AM |
Monthly | On the first day of every month at 8:00 AM |
All delivery times follow the store’s time zone, displayed below the frequency options.
A report can have only one frequency. To receive different versions on different schedules, create a separate report for each frequency.
Add recipients
Enter an email address and click Add Email. You can also press Enter after entering a valid address.
You must add at least one valid recipient before continuing. You can add up to 10 recipients to a report.
A few things to know:
At 10 recipients, the Add Email button and the Enter key stop adding addresses. If adding a recipient appears to do nothing, check whether the list already has 10.
Email addresses are matched exactly, including capitalization.
[email protected]and[email protected]count as two different addresses, so both can be added. Adding an address that already appears in the list shows a notification and does not add it twice.
Each recipient is assigned one of these statuses:
Unconfirmed: The recipient has not confirmed their email address.
Confirmed: The recipient has completed confirmation and can receive reports.
New recipients receive a confirmation email and remain Unconfirmed until they click its confirmation link. Use Resend to send the confirmation email again.
To remove an address, click Delete next to the recipient.
Click Next after selecting a frequency and adding at least one valid recipient. If either item is missing, TrueProfit displays an error and keeps you on this step.
Step 2 of 3 — Select relevant metrics and organize them
The second step controls which metrics appear in the email, how they are arranged, and the introductory text recipients will see.
Select the metrics to display
Use the Add metrics panel to choose the metrics you want to include.
You can:
Search for a metric by name.
Browse metrics by category.
Select a metric to add it to the report.
Clear a selected metric to remove it.
Email Reports use the same metric library available in Customize Dashboard, so you can build the report around the performance data most relevant to your store.
At least one metric must be selected.
Rearrange the metrics
In the preview, drag and drop metric cards to change their order.
The order shown in the preview is the order recipients will see in the delivered email. Place the most important metrics near the top so they are easier to scan.
Edit the email title and greeting
Click the pencil icon in the introductory section of the preview.
You can customize:
The email title
The greeting or introductory message
Click Apply to update the preview.
The store name, report name, and other supported placeholders are filled with the relevant information when the report is generated.
Review the preview
The preview shows how the report will be structured, including the selected metrics and introductory content.
The numbers shown while creating or previewing a report are sample values. The actual email contains your store’s real data when the scheduled report is generated.
Click Next when the report content is ready.
Step 3 of 3 — Review the final report
The final step lets you check the complete configuration before saving.
Review the Schedule and recipients section to confirm:
Report name
Frequency
Delivery time
Recipients
Then review the Email content section to confirm:
Email title and greeting
Selected metrics
Metric order
Overall email layout
To make changes, click Edit beside the relevant section or click Back to return to the previous step.
When everything is correct, click Create.
The new report will appear on the Email Report page and will follow the schedule you selected. Only recipients who have confirmed their email addresses will receive it.
How to manage existing Email Reports
The Email Report page lists all reports in a table showing:
Report Name: The name and a summary of its metrics
Frequency: The delivery schedule and time
Recipients: The number of recipients
Preview a report
Click the eye icon beside a report to open its preview.
The preview displays sample values rather than live store data. From the preview window, you can close it or select Edit to update the report.
Edit a report
Open the three-dot menu and select Edit.
You can move between the three builder steps and update the schedule, recipients, metrics, metric order, or email content. Click Save when finished.
Editing does not change the report type: the default report remains the default report, while a report you created remains a custom report.
Delete a report
Open the three-dot menu for a report you created and select Delete. Confirm the action to remove the report and stop its future scheduled deliveries.
The default TrueProfit Email Report cannot be deleted. It can only be previewed or edited.
