How TrueProfit syncs your data
TrueProfit pulls order data directly from Shopify. New orders typically appear on your dashboard within a few minutes of being placed. However, some data sources take longer:
Data type | Sync timing |
Shopify orders & revenue | Near real-time (a few minutes) |
Ad spend (Facebook, Google, TikTok) | Every 5 minutes or 10 minutes (varies by platform) |
COGS | Synced when you update product costs; past orders recalculate on demand |
Shipping costs | Synced when you setup based on your Shipping Profiles (weight / quantity / destination) |

Common reasons data isn't updating
1. You're looking at the wrong date range
The most common reason. Check the date range filter at the top of your dashboard. Make sure it includes today or the dates you expect to see.

2. Your Shopify connection needs a refresh
If TrueProfit loses connection to your Shopify store, orders stop syncing. Look for a sync error banner at the top of your dashboard. If you see one, click Refresh in the top-right corner of the page to reconnect.
If the error persists, go to Settings → Integrations and reconnect your Shopify store.
3. Ad spend hasn't synced yet
Ad platforms (Facebook, Google, TikTok, and others) have a reporting delay. Ad spend syncs every 5–10 minutes depending on the platform. This is normal.
If ad spend looks wrong after 10 minutes, check for a sync error at the top of your dashboard or in the notification center, and re-authenticate your ad account if needed.
For sync frequency details per platform, see: Integration sync rules: data frequency and connection method
4. Your Payment Status filter may be excluding certain orders
By default, TrueProfit includes orders of all payment statuses. However, if your Payment Status filter has been configured to show only certain statuses (for example, paid orders only), other orders won't appear in your numbers — this is expected behavior, not a sync issue.
Check your account's Payment Status filter settings, or contact support if you're unsure how it's configured.
5. COGS isn't set up yet
If your Net Profit looks too high, COGS (cost of goods sold) may not be configured. TrueProfit can't deduct costs it hasn't been given, so without COGS data, Net Profit will appear inflated.

6. Shipping Cost shows $0
Shipping Cost (what you pay carriers) is calculated from Shipping Profiles you set up in TrueProfit. If this shows $0, the profiles haven't been configured yet.
Go to Settings → Shipping Cost to set up your rates. Once configured, TrueProfit calculates Shipping Cost automatically for each order going forward.
Shipping Cost is different from Shipping Charged (what your customers pay for shipping). Shipping Charged syncs automatically with orders.
Still not updating after checking all of the above?
Try a hard refresh in your browser (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac / Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows). If the issue persists, contact our support team — include your store URL and the date range you're checking.
